2022 marks the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. Title IX was enacted by Congress to prohibit sex discrimination in federally funded educational programs or activities. The CWBA is celebrating the anniversary of Title IX by presenting a half-day training workshop that will cover:

  • Introduction to Title IX and its Impact on Schools by Liz Wolfson, Founder, Girls Athletic Leadership Schools.
  • The history of Title IX and reforms in Colorado presented by Brie Franklin, Executive Director of the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Violence (CCASA) with Elizabeth Newman, CCASA Public Policy Director.
  • Best practices when working with and representing trauma victims presented by Nhu-Minh Le, Program Director of Victim Assistance at the Asian Pacific Development Center.
  • A panel discussion featuring attorneys representing victims, a hearings officer, and an attorney who represents the accused. Featuring Cari Simon, Sally Pennington Roller, Camille Agnello, Lara M. Baker, and Dana Bolger (moderator).

This training is free, but there is a suggested $25 donation to the Girls Athletic Leadership Schools of Denver (GALS).

GALS Denver empowers students to succeed academically, lead confidently, live boldly, and thrive physically. The CWBA Give Back program will match funds up to $1,000! When making your contribution, please note that it is a CWBA donation on the check, Venmo, or online giving "Dedication" field. Donations are appreciated even if you cannot attend the training!

Approved for two general and one EDI credits.
