Over the last few years, the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion have been increasingly discussed within the legal profession. Even still, the legal profession particularly struggles to comprehend the concept of inclusion and implement practices to achieve inclusivity. How is our local community ensuring that lawyers, especially those that are underrepresented, are true participants in our community? How do we ensure that lawyers who are not men, not white, or have disabilities feel respected and supported? Are these individuals being talked at or part of the conversation? Are these individuals listened to or just heard? These questions, and more, will be discussed amongst the panelists.
Inclusion is a complex topic. Our intelligent and thoughtful panelists and moderator will help untangle its complexity, as much as they can in an hour and a half session. The CWBA is offering a panel of individuals with different life and legal experiences who can each provide a unique perspective to this topic.
